Handheld Electronic Games: Each child newly diagnosed with cancer at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh and in need of a handheld videogame will be given an age appropriate gaming system. The children who already have a gaming system will receive two new games from Genre's Kids With Cancer Fund. Genre feels this is 'super important' to pass the many hours
spent in treatment or receiving transfusions. For the youngest kids we offer infant activity gym mats and educational electronic games. MP3 players and iTunes gift cards are available for the older patients.
Go Bags: GKWCF provides each new cancer family with a bag to meet their immediate needs. The bag
includes items such as a notebook, pens, shampoo, soap, toothbrush, and other personal items. When Genre was
diagnosed we didn't get to our room until 1:00 am. We had nothing. We hope to relieve some of that stress for you.
Photography: Several photographers have teamed with Genre's Kids With Cancer Fund to provide photo
services for kids going through chemotherapy treatment at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. Free color
editing is provided so that you smile each and every time you look at the photo of your child/children.
Mentoring/Emotional Support: We are a family willing to share the leukemia journey we've been on. Our story
is not over yet. Where we have traveled has been very difficult but very rewarding. We are willing to share our
successes, practical advice and compassion with you. Please use the contact page to let us know you'd like to talk.
Spiritual Support: Ours is a story of struggle and the perserverance made possible by our faith in God. If you
are interested in hearing how we have managed to walk through every step of this disease, we'd love to share!
