This is our 1st Footsteps in Faith Race to benefit Genres Kids with Cancer Fund. Genre and his family chose this name because that's what this cancer journey has been, and now, Footsteps in Faith also sets the tone for the path Genres Kids with Cancer Fund will follow.
Following the race, there will be an award ceremony and a family festival. Come and enjoy live music by the Kiger Band who just played main stage at the Regatta! The worship team from Norwin Christian Church will be playing contemporary worship music before and after the Kiger Band.
A full concession stand including hot foods and snacks is being provided courtesy of Girl Scout Troop #1111. The Sheetz truck will be there selling gourmet coffee and smoothies! Coldwell Bankers will be selling baked goods and we'll have snowcones and popcorn for the kids!
Chinese auction baskets along with larger auction items will be offered.
The kids will enjoy a large children's area including many free games along with those that are available for a small fee! Giant inflatables, airbrush tatoos, facepainting and spin art will all be a part of the day, along with clowns, balloon artists and much more!
Please plan to spend the day with us to learn more about Genre's Kids with Cancer fund and the great oncology floor at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh! Downtown Irwin has much to offer on race day including many beautiful and unique shops and cafes! Come and explore all that Downtown Irwin has to offer.
Oncology Families
Oncology families from CHP - We invite you to spend the day with us as our guests!
We would love for you to walk/run in the race without a registration fee. If you would like to collect pledges for the walk, please feel free. That form is attached below.
* Please note that we can only offer this invitation to immediate family members.
* Only the patient will receive a race bag with a GKWCF t shirt.
* We will send you a voucher for lunch which will include one hot item, one drink
and one snack for each immediate family member.
* The patient's race bag will include tickets for each game/attraction in the
children's area.
* Family members are welcome to register for the race if they choose to be chip
timed and/or wish to receive a race bag.
Participant Options
Both adults and children will have the option to register for either: 5K Run (Chip Timed) - 5K Walk - 1 Mile Fun Walk
Entry Fees
Children 3 & under are free and not required to register.
Prior to July 28, 2010 (Discounted rate)
Adults: $20
Child (12 & Under): 5K Chip timed - $15
Child (12 & Under) 5K walk and 1 mile walk - $10
Beginning July 28, 2010
Adults: $25
Children (12 & Under): 5K Chip timed - $20

What is included with registration?
Each entrant will receive a t-shirt, race bag with goodies and coupons, access to a family fun day, and winners in age specific categories will receive medals.
Please note: A waiver must be signed for each participant. Race bags include items such as $5 Dick's Sporting Goods card, Sheetz coffee coupons, a Snickers Marathon bar, a free kids meal at Chile's Restaurant...and more!
Refund Policy
All entry fees are nonrefundable and nontransferable to another person.
Pets and the following wheeled devices are not permitted on the course: skateboards, roller blades, roller skates, wagons, heelies, or unauthorized bicycles.
Age-Group Awards
Medals will be presented for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners for Male and Female divisions of the 5K run in the following categories:
10& under
11-14
15-19
20-29
30-39
40-49
50-59
60+

If you are unable to attend, you can make a difference in the life of a child and family living through childhood cancer by donating to Genres Kids with Cancer Fund. This is a wonderful community event, and we are excited to hold the race through Downtown Irwin! Downtown Irwin is a quaint, traditional small town with a variety of attractions for everyone.
